Every month we’re going to showcase a particular item or style that will be a must-have for your closet. This month, our #1 recommendation for every woman is:
The black patent stretch belt! This fantastic piece goes beyond the traditional belt that is used to hold up your pants! The wide belt ‘locks and loads’ the outfit, and brings attention to the narrowest part of the body, while also defining or creating a waist. A wide belt can be added to your favourite dress to give a defined shape, it can also be paired with a long or oversized t-shirt with leggings. A belt like this can even be added over a blazer or a blouse to create a more flattering professional look.
We’ve been having a blast here at the store, showing our customers new and flattering ways to put together outfits, dress for their body-shape, try new styles and find versatile pieces that can take you from day to night/casual to dressy, easily. We are also LOVING having LOTIS CLOTHING available at the store for our fantastic customers. As we’ve mentioned before, Lotis is a new line created by ourselves, along with designer Renee Lethbridge. Can’t believe it’s November already! We’ve been super busy getting ready to unveil Lotis Clothing, our clothing line, to the world. We will be shipping Lotis to some fabulous Canadian plus-size boutiques starting next week! Many of you have made pre-orders on some of the pieces, so you’ll be getting phone calls from us mid-November to pick up your merchandise. We’re so excited! If you haven’t come in to try the samples, make sure you come visit us later this month, as quantities will be limited!
We’re making some changes and have some announcements to make, with the Holiday season around the corner.

We’re all pressed for time these days, especially around the holidays. Don’t worry about wrapping your holiday gifts this year! Save time and let us do the work. Spaces are filling up for holiday make-up appointments with Katie. She is taking bookings for holiday functions starting November 20th. Come in for regular or airbrush make-up for a flawless look. Also learn about Arbonne, the new skin care and cosmetic line we are carrying in-store.

We’ll be doing many things around town this weekend! First up is a charity fashion show this Saturday, October 3rd at the Sheraton. The event is in support of the Autism Society of Newfoundland & Labrador. We’ll be dressing performer Shelley Neville in the beautiful “timeless rouched dress” designed by Qristyl Frazier Designs. Structure also has a booth on Sunday, Oct. 4, at the Sheraton for this years’ Ultimate Bridal Show.
We’re also preparing for the holidays and with that in mind, we have some special pieces coming in from local designer Cara Winsor Hehir. Our motto for fall and holiday is versatile style, and working with Cara is a direct reflection of that motto. She has made us some beautiful basic black and holiday red dresses with a twist; removable multi-colour sashes that can be worn a few different ways. We are also excited to announce that we are launching our own clothing line, called Lotis Clothing. Lotis will be carried in our store, available for online order, and will also be available in boutiques across Canada and some stores in the US as well. We were inspired by our customers to create basic pieces with an edge, and are bringing them a basic holiday collection in black and red, with a full launch of the line coming in Spring 2010. Almost Fall, Project Runway in NL, and more!
Hi everyone! There has been a lot going on with us ladies at Structure the past month. Firstly, we’ve gotten the first shipments of Fall 09′ styles in-store. Beautiful tops, work dresses, cardigans, and blouses all to keep you fashionable for work and play this Fall. It’s all about beautiful colours, fluttering sleeves and flattering cuts. We’ve also got some more basics, like shrugs and our very popular comfy black leggings.
We also are excited to tell you all about some new dresses we have in the store right now. They were designed by NYC designer Qristyl Frazier, who just happens to be a contestant on the new season of Project Runway with Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn! Season 6 has already premiered in the US, but it will air in Canada beginning Sept. 12 on SLICE (channel 36 for those of us in NL!).

COMING UP: More information will be coming soon about a charity fashion show we’ll be participating in on October 3rd. We’ll also have a booth at this year’s ‘Ultimate Bridal Show’ at The Sheraton on Oct.4th. We’ll be there to promote make-up services, as well as have some clothing and accessories on-hand for sale.

Summer Happenings! Sales, Weddings and more!
As many of you know, we’re having a great sale at Structure this month. Up to 40% off, and EVERYTHING in the store is on sale, including accessories. We’re getting ready for multiple shipments arriving in the next few weeks for late summer and Fall styles.
Since our May 1 opening, we’ve asked all of you what it is that you’re looking for, and what challenges do you have when shopping? We’ve poured over our notes, emails and sales books, and what we have coming in to the store next month is a reflection of our clients needs. Quality, style and versatility….FABULOUS. We want to hear from you often, and there are many ways to reach us. WHAT’S HOT FOR FALL?
This fall, expect to see a lot of navy! This versatile but often forgotten neutral will be making appearances in basics for layering (camis, tees) but also for suiting seperates and dresses. It’s a great shade that goes with just about everything, and is a nice change from the usual black or brown. Try it!

Oh Canada!
We’re back in Canada after a fantastic time in NYC for the first ever Full Figured Fashion Week, which took place from June25-28. It was truly a rewarding experience to meet so many designers who are dedicated to creating clothing to really cater to the needs of full figured women. The finale runway showcase on Saturday night, which took place at the Prince George Ballroom in Manhattan, was a perfect ending to an innovative, exciting weekend. The show featured the collections of Monif C (there are a few Monif C convertible dresses left in the store!) and Candi Apple Couture (coming soon to Structure) among others.
We have talked to most of you, our customers, about this event and how it is going to impact us and you. Aside from choosing merchandise on this trip, the event was also about proving a point; that there are a substantial group of women everywhere who no longer wish to be ignored when it comes to fashion. For us, it’s about creating a mind-set that you ARE and can be fashionable, sexy and confident. If you don’t feel that way, come visit us and we want to talk to you about looking and feeling fabulous!
